In this high-profile role, you will work closely with both finance and operational teams, taking responsibility for key financial processes and helping the business make informed decisions through insightful analysis and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead core month-end activities, ensuring profit and loss accounts and balance sheets are prepared accurately and within deadlines.
• Provide detailed reporting and analysis on stock, security expenditure, and store performance.
• Build a thorough understanding of key business drivers to support forecasting and highlight opportunities for improvement.
• Review and monitor security-related costs, including guarding services and CCTV, ensuring an effective balance between operational requirements and cost management.
• Collaborate with finance leadership and operational stakeholders to support commercial decision-making and cost optimisation.
• Oversee cost centre and budget performance, ensuring expenditure is closely monitored and controlled.
• Produce regular analysis covering store profitability, sales performance, and key business KPIs.
• Deliver ad hoc reporting and analytical support across commercial, sales, and strategic business projects.

About You

• Part-qualified ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent, with a commitment to completing your studies.
• Previous experience within a retail, consumer goods, or FMCG environment.
• Proven involvement in month-end accounting and reporting processes.
• Advanced Excel capabilities and confidence handling large volumes of data.
• Analytical and naturally inquisitive, with a desire to understand the underlying drivers behind financial performance.
• Self-motivated with a hands-on approach and the ability to take full ownership of responsibilities.
• Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across both finance and operational teams.
• Capable of translating complex data into clear, practical business recommendations.
