Are you a Clinical Psychologist with experience of working with eating disorders? If so, there is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new role and psychological treatment pathway / provision, in adult residential eating disorders. Join Stockwood House, in Luton: a residential rehabilitative service for adults with eating disorders. This is an opportunity to change lives for the better and help some of the most vulnerable people in society.

Reporting directly to the Service Director you will be responsible for individual and group interventions, diagnostic and cognitive assessments, MDT working and risk assessments. You will also facilitate staff reflective practice sessions and be requested to design and deliver training.

As a Clinical Psychologist, you will have experience and knowledge in carrying a service user's caseload, including assessing complex needs and designing and delivering specialist psychological treatments to support their care plans.

As a Psychologist you will be:

  • Participating in the assessment of referrals, and to provide initial assessment service users referred to the rehabilitative service.
  • Undertaking high quality direct (assessment & therapeutic) and indirect (consultative, advisory, and evaluative) specialist psychological interventions and making autonomous clinical decisions.
  • Working therapeutically with service users with complex eating disorder and other co-related mental health presentations, undertake the assessments using a broad range of structured psychometric and semi structured clinical methods.
  • Formulating and implementing plans of specialist psychological treatment or management of patients' mental health needs based on a multi-factorial psychological understanding and current evidence based best practise.
  • Being professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of clinical work and care.
  • Maintaining high standards of care in all areas of practice and in accordance the HCPC Code of Conduct, professional guidelines and Company Policies and Procedures.

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Have BPS recognised psychology degrees
  • Be HCPC registered
  • Have Chartered Psychologist status and appropriate post-graduate qualifications
  • Be an approved supervisor within the guidelines of the BPS and relevant division
  • Have understanding of evidence-based psychological practice
  • Have experience of applying psychological knowledge to a clinical placement for people with eating disorders
  • Be experienced working with clients with eating disorders and sensory needs
  • Have previous experience of conducting research and project working

, Stockwood and Ellenbrook House Number 1 & Number 10 Cutenhoe Road, Luton, Bedfordshire, LU1 3ND

You will be working at the three care homes within close proximity to each other.

The care homes provide care and support for people with eating disorders, with extra support around meals and food choices, a comprehensive group timetable and higher levels of assistance with community activities. Recovery at Talbot House can lead to a discharge to nearby Stockwood or Ellenbrook House which offer a more multifaceted rehabilitation plan, allowing you to be part of their longer-term recovery, seeing them improve up to being discharged.
