Job overviewThe post holder will co‑coordinate all aspects of the operational and administrative planning of the Bowel Cancer Screening Programme across Bedford Hospital NHS Trust (BHT) and Luton & Dunstable University Hospital in conjunction with the Programme Manager and Clinical Director, whilst being specifically responsible for the leadership and line management of the clinical team of Band 6 Specialist Screening practitioners. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that the Bowel Cancer Screening Programme for BHT and L&D is delivered in line with national targets and within resources in conjunction with the Programme Manager and Clinical Director.

Qualifications- John Moores Liverpool University qualification
- Documented evidence of CPD
- Management or Leadership Qualification (or work towards)
- Experience of working as an SSP at Band 6 for a minimum of 2 years
- Experience of working within a multi‑disciplinary team at a senior level
- Knowledge and understanding of JAG and BCSP guidelines
- Clinical expertise within speciality
- Excellent IT skills
- Experience of audit and research
- Experience of preparing agendas and chairing
- Leadership skills
- Ability to organise and prioritise workload
- Time management and prioritisation skills
- Ability to work autonomously
- Ability to present and analyse complex data
- Experience of producing and maintaining nursing rosters
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
