An opportunity has arisen to join our team in the Outpatient Hysteroscopy Department at The Luton and Dunstable Hospital.
We are looking to recruit a motivated, enthusiastic and forward‑thinking Health Care Assistant to join our Women’s Services.
The successful candidate will work at a fast pace, embrace the role quickly and demonstrate excellent inter‑personal and problem‑solving skills.
We have a dedicated and friendly team of nurses and doctors providing care at the Luton and Dunstable Hospital. Outpatient hysteroscopy operates Monday‑Friday. The candidate may be required to work across the gynaecology outpatient services including Uro‑Gynaecology, Colposcopy, Fertility and Early Pregnancy Clinic.
Given the sensitive nature of this speciality, the successful applicant will have an interest in Women’s Health and be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills.
This vacancy is for 30 hours per week over 5 days (Mon‑Fri) with flexibility to suit the needs of the service.
Main duties of the job- Contribute to the delivery of patients’ individual care under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse.
- Perform a full range of manual and clerical duties.
- Support registered nurses in providing a safe and caring environment.
- Practice in accordance with Trust standards and statutory requirements and operate within the boundaries of the role and assessed competencies.
- Act as a role model for student nurses and colleagues.
- Assist the department in collecting feedback from patients and relatives.
- Assist with keeping the department clean, tidy, stocked and ensure equipment and stores comply with the expectations of the CQC and the Trust.
- Work with patients being seen in the hysteroscopy clinics.

The successful applicant will work predominantly in the hysteroscopy department; however may be required to provide cover for other gynaecology outpatient clinics and the gynaecology ward as needed.
Person Specification Qualifications- Level 2 maths and English
- Demonstrable experience in dealing with a person who is distressed
- Experience in an outpatient setting
- Experience or interest in Women’s Health
- Basic knowledge of digital systems
- Kind and compassionate
- Flexible and adaptable
