The Care Assistant role is a full-time, on-site position based in Luton. In this role, the Care Assistant will provide practical and emotional support to clients in their homes, including personal care such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and assisting with mobility. Day-to-day tasks may include helping with meal preparation, medication prompts, light household duties, and accompanying clients to appointments or social activities.
The Care Assistant will monitor clients' well-being, report any changes to senior staff, and maintain accurate care records. The role involves working collaboratively with colleagues, respecting individual care plans, and promoting independence, dignity, and safety at all times.
- Candidates should possess strong caregiving skills, including experience with personal care and support for daily living.
- Candidates should possess effective communication and interpersonal skills to build trust and rapport with clients, families, and colleagues.
- Candidates should possess competent manual handling skills and an understanding of safe moving and handling practices.
- Candidates should possess knowledge or experience in dementia care, including patience and sensitivity to cognitive and behavioral changes.
- Relevant care certifications (e.g., NVQ/QCF in Health and Social Care or equivalent) are beneficial.
- Ability to follow care plans, maintain accurate documentation, and adhere to safeguarding and confidentiality standards.
- Reliability, empathy, and a commitment to person-centered care; flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends if required.
- Right to work in the UK; a valid driving license and access to transport are advantageous for community visits.
