ABOUTTHE ROLE
You will join OAG's Platform Engineering team to help build, deploy and support services across our multi-cloud (AWS and Azure) environment, using automation and modern Dev Ops practices to keep systems reliable, secure and fast. The role exists to improve service delivery, support customer-facing applications, and bring Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices into day-to-day operations. This is a remote role, open to candidates located anywhere in the UK.
WHATYOU’LL BE DOING
- Work as part of the Platform Engineering team to deploy and operate services across our multi-cloud (AWS and Azure) environment.
- Deploy and manage applications using our Git Ops-driven CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Git Hub Actions, ArgoCD or Flux), and automate infrastructure and support processes with tools such as Terraform/Open Tofu.
- Build, support and optimise production environments running on Kubernetes, rapidly learning existing systems to help maintain high availability.
- Apply SRE and IaC practices day to day, collaborating with developers and other technical teams to improve observability, reliability and efficiency (e.g. Open Telemetry, Grafana, Prometheus).
- Help enforce zero-trust security and policy-as-code guardrails across the platform (e.g. Kyverno, OPA/Conftest, Cilium).
- Support the platform's identity, audit and policy model as it extends to business-process and agent-driven automation and to managed data platforms (e.g. Snowflake, Databricks, n8n, and MCP-connected AI agents).
- Participate in rostered on‑call support and troubleshooting, ensuring timely incident response and system recovery.
- Use AI tooling to help accelerate day-to-day delivery and support work.
- Experience implementing CI/CD and version-control practices using Git Hub Actions or similar tools.
- Practical knowledge of AWS and/or Azure cloud, networking, containers and Kubernetes.
- Practical knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g. Terraform/Open Tofu, Crossplane).
- Practical knowledge of at least one modern, vendor‑neutral observability tool (e.g. Open Telemetry, Grafana, Prometheus).
- Security‑minded, with some exposure to policy-as-code and zero‑trust tooling (e.g. OPA/Conftest, Kyverno, Cilium, SPIFFE/SPIRE) or similar.
- Comfortable scripting in Python, Bash, or similar.
- Curiosity about applying AI tooling (e.g. AI coding assistants, AI-assisted testing or AI-assisted incident response) to speed up delivery and support.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills, with a strong sense of ownership and a quality‑first mindset.
- Clear communicator and effective team player.
