Roadside Technician

Overview

Join the RAC as a Roadside Technician. The role is based in the Stevenage cluster, covering nearby towns. You’ll start and finish each shift from home, working demand‑led shifts averaging 40 hours per week with optional overtime.

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Respond to a range of incidents such as flat batteries, tyre changes, and complex fault‑finding assignments.
• Provide quick, confident solutions and reassurance to members, maintaining high customer service standards.
• Maintain personal RAC van, fuel card, uniform and diagnostic kit, and keep tools and equipment up to date.

• Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or equivalent).
• At least 2 years of post‑qualification technical, electrical and diagnostic experience.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Customer‑focused approach and confidence under pressure.

• Strong base pay of £36,400 and realistic OTE of £61,000, with earnings potential through bonuses and enhanced overtime rates.
