Aircraft Mechanic – Luton – Permanent
The RoleThe Mechanic will be actively involved in line and base maintenance activities, as required in accordance with company procedures and Part 145, and as delegated by Licensed Engineers and Engineering Managers. The role requires conducting and maintaining high standards of aircraft maintenance, performing maintenance safely and timely in accordance with approved data, MOE/work instructions and regulations. The mechanic will handle company mobile phones as needed, provide customer feedback, and may work outside the base.
Working within a small team, the mechanic may act as a first point of contact for customer or crew inquiries, liaising with internal departments to ensure completion.
The Luton base operates 24/7. Successful applicants must be flexible, working part of a team covering 24-hour operations, including days, late shifts, weekends and bank holidays. It will normally be a 4 on 4 off shift pattern; flexibility is required for occasional lone working or workload variations. Initial training involves Monday-to-Friday work.
Requirements- Experience in a corporate/private aviation environment or line/scheduled maintenance.
- Good computer skills (Microsoft Office, general systems knowledge).
- Organised, adaptable, flexible approach; strong interpersonal and diplomatic skills.
- Enthusiastic, eager to learn, professional appearance and manner under pressure.
- Ability to prioritise, remain calm and adapt in a changing environment.
- Excellent communication skills combined with courtesy and integrity.
- Good administrative skills and computer literacy.
- Full UK driving licence and right to live & work in the UK.
- 5‑year checkable history for airport .
- ‘A’ licensed mechanics may qualify for an authorisation payment of £750 per aircraft type, up to a maximum of 5.
