What will I be doing?

  • You will be tasked with managing the maintenance of all fleet assets across multiple sites in the Manchester region, and ensuring that fully compliant vehicles are provided to the operations in a timely manner.
  • You will be responsible for each workshop resource and budgetary targets, with overall responsibility for the health and safety of the employees within the workshop.
  • You will compile monthly reports on workshop activities and manage all employee related matters.
  • You will promote best practice across your remit and ensure that all SUEZ recycling and recovery UK procedures are always being adhered to.
What are the requirements?
  • Previous experience of managing multi-site maintenance facilities.
  • Higher National Certificate (HNC) approved apprenticeship in vehicle engineering or equivalent.
  • Health and safety qualification, Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) or higher.
  • Management qualification.
  • Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) road haulage operations.
  • To be conversant with the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) guide to maintaining roadworthiness.
  • Display product knowledge of refuse collection vehicles and systems.
  • Have significant industry knowledge.
  • Knowledge of all aspects of vehicle compliance criteria.
  • To be conversant with the principles of fleet management systems.
  • Financial awareness.
  • Health and safety.
  • Knowledge and experience of Lean, 5s methodology.

You will have excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team. Be computer literate, with excellent planning, organisational and communications skills.

You will act in an honest, responsible and respectful manner with a professional conduct. Ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of employees, customers and other personnel is prioritised as well as complying in all circumstances with the laws and regulations connected with your activities.
