Our client is a well-established precision engineering manufacturer producing high-quality, low-volume components for a range of highly regulated industries. The Role

Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced CNC Machinist to join their machine shop. This is a hands‑on role involving the programming, setting and operation of CNC machine tools, manufacturing precision components to engineering drawings within a low‑volume, high‑quality production environment.

This will be on a double day shift pattern.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program, set and operate CNC milling or turning machines.
  • Manufacture precision components to engineering drawings and tight tolerances.
  • Produce low-volume, high-quality machined parts.
  • Manufacture and modify jigs, fixtures and tooling.
  • Carry out first‑off and in‑process inspection using precision measuring equipment.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Record production activity using the company’s ERP system.
  • Work to production schedules and agreed machining times.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain high standards of quality, housekeeping and health & safety.
The Candidate

Previous experience programming, setting and operating CNC milling or turning machines.

Experience working to tight tolerances from engineering drawings.

Good knowledge of inspection techniques using measuring equipment.

A proactive attitude with excellent attention to detail.

Experience with in low-volume, high-precision manufacturing.
