CNC Miller – Setter/Operator

We are recruiting on behalf of a well‑established precision engineering business that continues to invest in its people, technology and future growth. Due to increasing workloads, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced CNC Miller to join a skilled machining team on a permanent days‑based shift.

This role would suit a capable CNC Miller who can confidently set and operate CNC milling machines with minimal supervision and takes pride in producing high‑quality precision components.

As a CNC Miller, you will be responsible for setting and operating CNC milling machines to manufacture precision‑engineered components to drawing specifications. You will work closely with the wider engineering team to ensure quality, efficiency and continuous improvement across the shop floor.

• Set and operate CNC milling machines independently.
• Manufacture precision components to engineering drawings and tight tolerances.
• Work with production and engineering teams to prove out new jobs.
• Select appropriate tooling and make adjustments to optimise machining processes.
• Carry out quality checks to ensure components meet specification.
• Contribute ideas to improve productivity, quality and manufacturing efficiency.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.

Essential

• Previous experience setting and operating CNC milling machines.
• Strong background in 3‑axis CNC milling.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Good understanding of tooling, cutting data and engineering materials.
• Experience producing precision‑machined components, including close‑tolerance work.
• Comfortable machining medium to larger‑sized components.

Desirable

• On‑machine programming experience using FANUC controls.
• Experience setting and operating 5‑axis CNC milling machines.

• £40,000‑£45,000
