Reporting to the Site Operations Manager, the Shift Manager (Days) is responsible for leading and developing a team of Production Operatives to consistently deliver Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People objectives across the David Berryman manufacturing operation. The role is accountable for driving operational excellence through strong leadership, effective resource management and continuous improvement initiatives, while fostering a culture of accountability, engagement and high performance.

Working collaboratively with Planning, Engineering, Quality and wider operational teams, the Shift Manager ensures production targets are achieved whilst maintaining the highest standards of food safety, employee safety, compliance and customer satisfaction. As part of the operational leadership team, the Shift Manager will play a key role in developing team capability, supporting business growth and delivering sustainable performance improvements across the site.

• Drive a positive health and safety culture through visible leadership and role modelling of best practices.
• Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory and company health and safety requirements.
• Lead accident investigations, risk assessments and corrective action implementation to reduce risk and improve site safety performance.

• Champion GMP, HACCP and food safety standards across all production activities.
• Maintain audit readiness and promote a right-first-time culture.
• Manage non-conformance investigations and ensure timely completion of CAPA actions.
• Escalate food safety or product quality risks immediately and implement effective containment actions where required.

• Lead, coach and motivate a team of Production Operatives to achieve operational objectives.
• Manage employee performance, attendance and employee relations matters consistently and fairly.
• Promote THG values, behaviours and a culture of respect, accountability and engagement.
• Lead structured shift handovers and daily communication meetings to ensure alignment on priorities and targets.
