Position: Volunteer: Welcoming & Workshop Support

Company Description Thrive Creative Hub is a community-focused organization dedicated to supporting local creatives, makers, and entrepreneurs in Luton. The hub provides shared spaces, workshops, and events that encourage collaboration, skill-building, and creative expression. Volunteers help create a welcoming environment where people of all backgrounds can access resources and connect with others. By supporting day-to-day activities and community programs, volunteers contribute directly to the growth and sustainability of the creative community.

Thrive Creative Hub values inclusivity, creativity, and practical support for emerging and established talent.
Role Description This is an on-site volunteer role based in Luton. Volunteers support the daily operation of the hub by welcoming visitors, providing basic information about services and events, and helping maintain clean, organized communal spaces. Tasks may include assisting with workshop setup and breakdown, managing sign-in sheets, preparing materials, and offering general support to facilitators and staff during events. Volunteers may also help with simple administrative tasks, such as updating notice boards, collecting feedback forms, and supporting outreach activities within the local community.

Scheduling is flexible and can be arranged to accommodate other commitments, while still providing consistent support to hub activities.
Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate clearly, listen actively, and interact respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Interest in creative arts, community projects, or local initiatives, with a willingness to learn about the hub’s activities.
  • Organizational skills to manage basic tasks, keep shared spaces tidy, and follow simple procedures and guidelines.
  • Reliability and punctuality, with the ability to commit to agreed volunteer hours and work as part of a team.
  • Basic comfort using email or messaging tools for scheduling and updates; familiarity with social media is beneficial but not required.
  • Positive, proactive attitude and readiness to support staff, facilitators, and visitors in a respectful, non-judgmental manner.
  • Previous volunteering or customer-facing experience is helpful but not essential; all necessary guidance and training will be provided.
