Great emergency care starts with a team that trusts, listens to and supports one another.

We are looking for an experienced OOH vet who is confident leading medical and surgical cases, carrying out diagnostic investigations and taking ownership of a varied overnight caseload. You will have space to use your professional judgement, work cases through from presentation to outcome and help shape a developing service where good ideas are welcomed.

An Out-of-Hours Service with a Difference
We're committed to creating an OOH service that genuinely cares for and listens to its people while delivering outstanding patient and client care. We have fantastic working relationships with our clients and member practices which enables us to work with a flexible, patient-focused approach for each case. We trust our clinicians to use their professional judgement and want your input on how we can things even better.

We believe that when our team feels supported, valued and empowered, exceptional care naturally follows.

Meet the people beside you

It's not a cliché to us. The people you work have such an impact on your happiness, and our team will keep your spirits high, even during the most difficult periods we go through.

Johannah Maxwell – Lead OOH Veterinary Surgeon
Johannah brings five years of dedicated OOH experience and is currently completing her ECC Certificate. She is passionate about emergency and critical care, enjoys sharing knowledge and is always open to ideas that could make the service better. Away from work, she enjoys running, Cross Fit and travelling.

Sally – Registered Veterinary Nurse
Sally has worked in veterinary practice since 2014 and brings experience from both small animal and equine settings. Her recent move into ECC reflects the team's shared enthusiasm for learning, variety and the challenge of OOH work.

Clare – Registered Veterinary Nurse
Clare is a highly experienced veterinary nurse with an extensive background in emergency and referral practice in the UK and internationally. She brings calm capability to the team and, outside work, enjoys travelling in her campervan and cycling.

Nim – Lead OOH Veterinary Nurse
Nim brings a wealth of first-opinion and emergency experience and is working towards her ECC Certificate. She is passionate about excellent patient care and creating an overnight environment in which every colleague feels supported and able to do their best work.

Why you will enjoy working here A culture built on trust

You will be trusted to use your experience and professional judgement, with a team around you that communicates openly and respects different perspectives. We actively invite suggestions, share best practice and keep improving together, so your voice will be heard rather than lost in the background.

Skilled colleagues that invest in each other

You will work with experienced vets and nurses, including certificate holders and colleagues developing advanced expertise in surgery, ECC, ophthalmology, exotics and diagnostic imaging. The culture is collaborative rather than hierarchical: people ask for a second opinion, share struggles. We see this as a sign of our strength and do not judge anyone for asking for help.

A rota that protects time away from work

Our established 7-nights-on, 14-nights-off rota gives you meaningful time to rest, reset and enjoy life outside work. We are also happy to discuss part-time or flexible arrangements for the right person.

Interesting cases, with continuity of care
