Goods Inwards & Mechanical Inspector

Job Description:

We are looking for a Goods-in / Mechanical Inspector to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality, compliance, and safety, directly contributing to the success of our innovative projects.

• This role will combine 2 key responsibilities:
  Goods-in Inspector:
  Book in, Inspect and verify incoming goods, materials, and components against specifications, drawings, and documentation. Ensure that the correct quality standards, part numbers, and certifications are in place. Identify and report any discrepancies or non-conformities with received items. Maintain accurate records and support inventory and logistics teams to resolve quality issues.
• Mechanical Inspector:
  Perform detailed inspections of mechanical components and assemblies, using precision measurement tools (e.g., micrometres, callipers, CMM, 3D Scanner). Review engineering drawings and specifications to ensure components meet the required tolerances and design standards. Measure mechanical parts to confirm that they meet functionality and safety criteria. Document inspection results, identify defects, and report non-conformances, providing support to engineering teams for corrective actions.
  
  Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements for all mechanical parts.

Previous experience in a quality control or inspection role, preferably in mechanical inspection or goods-in processes within an engineering or manufacturing environment.

Proficiency in using mechanical inspection tools and equipment (e.g., callipers, micrometres, height gauges).

A keen eye for detail with a focus on ensuring the highest standards of accuracy and quality.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify defects, discrepancies, and resolve issues efficiently.

Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively report findings and collaborate with team members and suppliers.

Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams and foster good working relationships. This is not an exhaustive list, and we are keen to hear from you even if you might not have experience in all the above. The most important skill is a good attitude and willingness to learn.
