About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and committed Children & Families Social Worker to support children, young people and families who are in need or at risk.
The successful candidate will assess the needs of children and families, analyse information and develop effective care plans. You will work closely with families, colleagues and partner agencies to provide appropriate support and protection, ensuring children’s safety and wellbeing remain at the centre of practice.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake comprehensive assessments of children and families, identifying needs, strengths and risks.
Analyse information to inform care planning and professional decision-making.
Work directly with children, young people and their families to understand their needs and wishes.
Develop and implement effective multi-agency interventions and support plans.
Undertake statutory visits in line with relevant legislation and local procedures.
Complete parenting assessments and provide evidence-based recommendations.
Assess and manage safeguarding concerns and risks.
Work collaboratively with partner agencies, including education, health, police and other professionals.
Monitor and review interventions to ensure they are achieving positive outcomes.
Maintain accurate and timely case records, assessments and reports.
Advocate for children and young people and ensure their wishes and feelings inform decision-making.
Work in accordance with relevant legislation, safeguarding procedures and professional standards.
Candidate Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
A recognised Social Work qualification.
Current Social Work England registration.
Experience working with children, young people and families.
Strong assessment and analytical skills.
Experience undertaking statutory visits and parenting assessments.
Knowledge of safeguarding, risk management and child protection.
Experience of multi-agency working.
Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
The ability to manage a caseload and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
A child-centred and strengths-based approach to social work.
