Position: Housing Solutions Officer

What You’ll be doing

Are you passionate about helping people find and keep a safe place to call home? We're looking for a proactive and customer-focused Housing Solutions Officer to help prevent homelessness and support people facing housing challenges. You'll work closely with individuals to understand their needs, provide practical housing advice, and work with partner organisations to achieve positive, long-term outcomes.

You’ll assess housing applications, make decisions in line with housing legislation, and ensure every case is handled fairly and compassionately. You’ll also help promote homelessness prevention by building strong relationships with partners, delivering awareness sessions, and contributing to an out-of-hours rota when needed.

If you're ready to make a real difference in people's lives while working as part of a supportive team, we'd love to hear from you.

What we’re looking for

Are you passionate about preventing homelessness and making a real difference in people's lives? We're looking for a resilient and customer-focused Housing Solutions Officer to manage a varied caseload, supporting people with a wide range of housing needs. You'll carry out detailed assessments, provide practical housing advice, identify support needs, and work closely with internal teams and partner organisations to achieve positive, long-term housing outcomes.

You’ll have a strong understanding of homelessness legislation and housing law, excellent communication and customer service skills, and the ability to make fair, informed statutory decisions. You’ll be confident managing competing priorities, maintaining accurate case records, producing reports, and using IT systems such as Microsoft Excel. Experience of working with vulnerable people, assessing risk, and promoting equality, diversity and inclusion is essential.

A relevant housing qualification or equivalent experience is desirable. You’ll also need to be flexible, with the ability to travel when required and participate in the out-of-hours homelessness rota.

If you’re organised, compassionate, and ready to help people secure a safe place to call home, we’d love to hear from you.
