Aboutthe Role
Key responsibilities:
- In the absence of the senior chef, support and handle day‑to‑day food preparation and duties assigned by senior chefs to meet the site’s standards and quality.
- Manage cooking process at the assigned station of multiple dishes, ensuring food is delivered in a timely manner.
- Maintain safety, hygiene and correct use of department utensils and equipment on site.
- Notify senior chefs of inventory shortages to keep kitchen stocked with fresh ingredients and catering necessities.
- Work with the culinary team to maintain high‑quality food and service throughout the shift.
- Previous experience in a similar role within the Contract Catering industry.
- Relevant qualifications and knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety.
- Proven track record supervising a team and leadership skills.
- High standards in organisational and managerial areas.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Effective team leadership and management ability.
- Ability to handle different situations and find practical solutions.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication.
- Time‑management and organisational abilities.
- Handling sensitive and confidential information.
- Competency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Level 2 food hygiene certificate is an advantage.
- Leadership and team management effectiveness.
- Understanding of financial management, budgeting, and cost control.
Night shifts – Monday to Wednesday, 23:00 – 06:00.
