Advanced Nurse Practitioner/Advanced Clinical Practitioner
We are seeking a part‑time, independently prescribing Advanced Nurse Practitioner or Advanced Clinical Practitioner to work Wednesday to Friday. The ideal candidate is proactive, enthusiastic and comfortable working with a well established team.
Job SummaryWork as an autonomous practitioner within a multi‑professional team to deliver high‑quality care to a registered patient list of approximately 10,900 patients.
- Triage, assess, diagnose and treat patients requesting same‑day appointments, or refer to the GP/nursing team.
- Manage own caseload, including unpredictable patterns of work.
- Act as a clinical expert in direct contact care and facilitate inter‑professional care.
- Maintain accurate electronic and written records.
- Prescribe effectively using the local formulary.
- Assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate treatment/interventions.
- Diagnose and manage both acute and chronic conditions.
- Clinically examine and assess patient needs; plan clinical care accordingly.
- Provide care for undifferentiated diagnoses and refer appropriately.
- Support patients to adopt health promotion strategies.
- Demonstrate effective communication, ensuring patients are fully informed and consent to treatment.
- Participate in multi‑professional team meetings.
- Autonomous practitioner with experience in primary care and minor illness.
- Dependable prescriber with at least 2 years of experience as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner in general practice.
- Minor Illness and Injury qualifications.
- Willing to learn a variety of IT systems, including Systm One and Clarity Teamnet.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
- Based in a large purpose‑built site in Lutterworth.
- Patient list approximately 10,900.
- Clinical team: 5 partners, 5 salaried GPs, 1 ANP, 4 nurses, 1 nurse associate, 3 HCAs, 2 physiotherapists, 1 admin nurse.
- Senior clinical pharmacist and PCN pharmacist support.
- Experienced reception and administrative team, medical students and GP registrar training.
- High QOF achievement, part of South Blaby & Lutterworth PCN.
- Experience of working as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner within General Practice.
- Minor Illness and Injury qualifications.
