Engineer IV – Transmission Line

Find Talent is supporting a leading engineering services provider in their search for an Engineer IV – Transmission Line to join their growing team onsite in the Southeast. This senior‑level engineering role provides advanced technical expertise and leadership for complex transmission line design and analysis projects. The successful candidate will independently manage engineering assignments, provide technical guidance to junior engineers, and ensure all work meets high standards of quality, safety, and compliance.

This position is ideal for a seasoned professional engineer with extensive experience in transmission line design and construction, strong technical proficiency, and the ability to lead and mentor others while delivering technically sound, cost‑effective solutions.

• Provide advanced engineering and technical expertise for transmission line design projects, including analysis, specifications, calculations, and documentation

• Mentor and coach other engineering professionals, providing guidance and quality review of subordinate engineers’ work

• Lead the identification, analysis, and resolution of engineering and technical issues

• Plan, organize, estimate, schedule, and monitor engineering activities to ensure timely and efficient project execution

• Prepare accurate technical reports, design drawings, correspondence, and calculations with minimal supervision

• Ensure continuous improvement of job‑related knowledge, skills, and performance

• Maintain strong communication with project teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure alignment on technical and project objectives

• Manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards

• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality programs across all project phases

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution

• State registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) required

• 8 to 12 years of experience as a practicing engineer, preferably in the electric utility or transmission line industry

• Proficient in engineering theories, principles, and practices

• Skilled in researching design issues, evaluating alternatives, and preparing sound technical recommendations

• Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to prepare professional reports and presentations

• Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage workload independently, and coordinate effectively across disciplines

• Experience working with a variety of stakeholders from diverse backgrounds

• Experience with
  project management principles and tools

• Strong understanding of transmission line design software and standards

• Proven ability to mentor and develop engineering staff

• Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills

• Full‑time onsite position based in the Southeast region

• Occasional travel may be required for site visits or project meetings

• Flexibility to work extended hours as needed to meet project deadlines
