Insight Global is looking for a CAD Technician/Permitting Coordinator to sit in Lutz, FL (north Tampa area), within the electrical utilities engineering industry. The role requires CAD/AutoCAD experience and a desire to learn permitting. This is an on‑site, contract‑to‑hire position of 4 months, which may lead to full‑time employment with benefits after conversion.
Base pay range$18.00/hr - $23.00/hr
Job SummaryThe primary duty of the Permitting Coordinator is to perform permitting for all accounts in the local area (and state of FL), checking accuracy and creating permitting documents used for ROW access so the company can park its vehicles on land owned by the county and city to survey utility poles. CAD/AutoCAD experience will be utilized in the permit process.
- Ability to work 40 hours a week, typical daytime hours in Tampa, FL (no part‑time, hybrid, or remote).
- Associate’s degree or higher with 1+ year relevant professional work experience; OR high school diploma plus 4+ years of relevant professional work experience.
- Minimum 1‑2 years of AutoCAD (or similar CAD program).
- Prior permitting related experience desired (utilities, construction, telecom, etc.) but training will be provided.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Interest in power utilities and/or engineering industries desired; training will be provided.
