Part-Time Family Nurse Practitioner; Walk-In and Primary Care; Lutz, FL

Join a busy walk-in and primary care family clinic in Lutz, FL as a part-time Family Nurse Practitioner and care for a true cross-section of the community, with about half of your patients children and teens. Your patients include walk-ins and scheduled visits, and your work covers wellness visits, chronic disease management, preventive care, and sick visits. The clinic's volume is growing, and you'd work two 12-hour shifts a week (8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.) alongside an RN, MAs who handle phlebotomy, scribing, and lab follow-up calls, and a team of NPs who pitch in so everyone finishes on time.

You're out the door at 8: charting is typically finished and signed by the end of the shift, and the team helps each other so no one stays late. A true family mix: about 35% of patients are ages 0-12, 15% are 13-17, 40% are adults, and 10% are 65 and older. Walk-ins and scheduled visits are about half and half, so no two days look alike.

Strong support: an RN and about four MAs who draw labs, help scribe, and keep patient flow moving. You don't chase routine results: MAs handle lab result calls and forward patient messages, and you call patients yourself only for abnormal findings. A scoped women's health load: you perform occasional Pap tests for patients with clear histories, and anyone with concerns is referred to the women's health practice next door.

No controlled substances are prescribed, so you do not need a DEA registration. Slower stretches during the day for charting, and lunch whenever you want it. Closed on major holidays.

Provide primary care for patients of all ages: wellness visits, chronic disease management, preventive care, and sick visits. Diagnose and treat acute conditions for walk-in patients, including common issues such as UTIs. Perform Pap tests for patients with normal histories, and refer patients with any concerning history to the women's health practice next door. At the start of your shift, review the day's appointments in the EMR, outstanding labs, and prescription refills.

Delegate routine lab result calls and patient messages to the MAs, and call patients yourself about abnormal results. Work with the RN and MAs to keep patients moving and keep wait times short. Complete and sign charts by the end of your shift.

Active Florida APRN license. Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) certification. Available for two 12-hour shifts per week (8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.), including every other weekend. Calm and efficient when walk-ins surge on top of a full schedule.

At least 2 years of experience as an NP, or a new graduate NP with at least 2 years of emergency room experience, with the most recent ER experience within the past year. Experience caring for pediatric patients, including young children. Basic GYN experience, including Pap tests.

$50-$85 per hour, based on experience. Part-time 1099 independent contractor position, two 12-hour shifts per week. Malpractice insurance covered under the clinic's umbrella. Part-time positions do not include PTO or other benefits.
