The Line Cook is a full-time, on-site role based in Lutz, FL, responsible for preparing and cooking meals that meet the nutritional needs and preferences of senior residents. Day-to-day duties include following standardized recipes, preparing ingredients, operating kitchen equipment safely, and ensuring that all meals are presented in an appealing and timely manner. The Line Cook maintains a clean and organized work area, adheres to food safety and sanitation standards, and supports inventory management by properly storing, rotating, and labeling food items.

The role also involves collaborating with the culinary and care teams to accommodate special dietary requirements, assisting with menu preparation as needed, and contributing to a positive, respectful environment for residents and colleagues.

• Demonstrated skills in food preparation, cooking, and portion control in a commercial or institutional kitchen.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards, including proper food storage and handling.
• Ability to follow recipes, menus, and dietary guidelines, including special diets common in senior living settings.
• Strong time management and organizational skills to handle multiple orders and tasks during meal service.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with kitchen staff, nursing staff, and other team members.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry supplies, and work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Prior experience as a line cook, prep cook, or similar role; experience in senior living, healthcare, or hospitality is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent; food handler or Serv Safe certification is a plus.
• Commitment to person-centered care, reliability in attendance, and adherence to Angels Senior Living policies and procedures.
