About the Opportunity:
We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Chief Engineer (B) to work at a leading ethanol production facility in Luverne, MN. This full-time opportunity is available through Sprung Service son behalf of our client, a well-established company in the renewable energy sector. The Chief Engineer will oversee key plant operations, with a focus on boiler systems, engineering projects, and team supervision.
This role requires a Chief B Engineer license and includes both hands-on and leadership responsibilities.
The Chief Engineer (B) will perform all duties of a Shift Engineer, plus additional responsibilities including supervising operators, coordinating vendor/inspector activities, managing supply orders, and advising on system safety and efficiency. This is a critical leadership role supporting daily operations, compliance, and system performance at the plant.
Key Responsibilities- Shift Engineer Duties (plus):
Operate and monitor plant systems to ensure efficient production. - Perform regular inspections and maintenance of equipment.
- Respond to operational issues and perform troubleshooting as needed.
- Additional Chief Engineer Responsibilities:
Supervise and schedule 1B operators and support staff. - Order supplies and manage inventory related to the boiler room and support systems.
- Work with vendors, inspectors, and contractors related to the boiler and mechanical systems.
- Advise management on the safety, efficiency, and compliance of boilers and related systems.
- Support plant engineering initiatives and assist with project coordination.
Required License:
Minnesota Chief B Engineer License
Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar role within industrial, ethanol, or chemical processing facilities.
- Experience supervising staff and working with boiler systems.
- Familiarity with safety standards and regulatory compliance (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
- Strong leadership and communication abilities.
- Solid understanding of plant operations and mechanical systems.
- Problem-solving mindset with attention to safety and detail.
