Job Title:

Shift Engineer / Shift Boiler Operator (1B Licensed)

Location:

Luverne, MN

Industry: Ethanol Production

Positions Available: 3

Rate: $40/hr

About the Opportunity:
We are currently hiring three (3) 1st Class B Licensed Shift Engineers / Boiler Operators for placement at a leading ethanol production facility in Luverne, MN. This is a great opportunity to join a well-established team in the renewable fuels industry.

Responsibilities
  • Start up and shut down the boilers and all associated systems safely and efficiently.
  • Operate and monitor boiler systems during active plant operations.
  • Perform blowdowns on boilers and air tanks using conductivity meters.
  • Collect water treatment samples and conduct chemical tests to maintain proper boiler water quality.
  • Complete and record all water treatment logs, general logs, and system readings accurately.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and minor mechanical repairs on all systems and related equipment.
  • Prepare the boiler systems for annual inspections in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Support production staff when appropriate and within the limits of the Minnesota boiler operator code.
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety policies, and site-specific rules.
  • Ensure high standards of cleanliness, safety, and system efficiency.
Qualifications

Required License

  • Valid Minnesota 1st Class B Boiler Operator License (1B)

Preferred Experience

  • Previous experience operating industrial boilers in a manufacturing, ethanol, or energy facility.
  • Familiarity with water treatment systems, boiler inspections, and general preventive maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret gauges, meters, and technical documents.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills for reporting and log documentation.
