Job Summary
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) participates in the implementation and evaluation of patient/resident care for stable and predictable patients/residents of all ages in the home care setting. Demonstrates knowledge of nursing principles for the patient/resident in the relevant setting and possesses the ability to perform testing to assess data reflective of the patient/resident's status and to interpret appropriately the information needed to identify each patient/resident's requirements relative to the age‑specific needs, and to provide the care needed.
Demonstrates competency and practices within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge and utilizes appropriate age and population specific standards as designated in the home care setting. Ensures the health, comfort and safety of patients/residents.
- Provide comprehensive patient/resident care in the home care setting.
- Perform and interpret testing to assess patient/resident status.
- Develop and implement individualized self‑care programs.
- Administer a variety of treatments and medications as directed.
- Ensure a safe environment specific to the home setting.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to meet patient/resident needs.
- Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Current, unencumbered LPN license with the state nursing board (or multi‑state licensure privileges).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for health care providers.
- One year of professional nursing experience preferred.
- For positions requiring IV therapy/management skills, graduation from a Board‑approved AASPN program with IV therapy curriculum or completion of an NV‑approved IV therapy course.
- Valid driver’s license may be required depending on location.
Luverne Cottage Hospice, 217 N Oakley St, Luverne, MN 56156. 12‑hour night shift (night shifts), full time, 36.00 hours per week.
Compensation & BenefitsSalary range: $24.00–$36.00 per hour. Sign‑on bonus up to $10,000 for eligible applicants. Benefits include health, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, paid time off, and work/life balance benefits.
