Job Overview
Position:
Swimming Teacher at Lymm High School.
Base pay range: £15.60-£17.52 per hour.
Start date:
ASAP.
Contract:
Casual.
Hours of Duty:
Variable throughout Mon–Thu evenings (including Tues 4 pm–7 pm and Thu 4 pm–8 pm). Additional opportunities include Teach‑to‑Swim lessons Monday–Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings, with further regular teaching opportunities expected.
Location:
Lymm Leisure Centre (based at Lymm High School).
Lymm Leisure Centre delivers high‑quality swimming lessons following the ‘Swim England Learn to Swim framework’ to over 650 swimmers each week and also provides Primary School swimming lessons to local children.
Main Duties- Be a positive role model, creating a fun environment to motivate children and adults to participate.
- Deliver lessons ensuring adherence to the scheme of work.
- Ensure safe provision of all equipment and correct usage.
- Identify participants’ abilities and encourage their full potential.
- Demonstrate swimming techniques.
- Correct faults in techniques and identify ways to improve performance.
- Regularly assess participants’ ability and progress, marking on assessment sheets weekly.
- Punctual, flexible and reliable.
- Able to deal with candidates calmly and professionally.
- Well‑organised.
- Work independently and as part of a team.
- Enthusiastic and positive attitude towards swimming.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to inspire confidence and motivate swimmers.
- Understanding of differentiating teaching sessions.
