As an Activities Lead at a Barchester care home, you’ll help to create a stimulating environment that enables the delivery of exceptional all‑round care and support for residents. You will be responsible for devising imaginative, fun, and motivational activities that suit every interest and ability, with the aim of maximizing the wellbeing, independence, and social engagement of the residents.

The Activities Lead is responsible for creating a stimulating environment and delivering exceptional care and support for residents. This involves designing and implementing a range of activities that cater to the diverse interests and abilities of the residents, with the goal of enhancing their wellbeing, independence, and social engagement. The role requires strong organizational skills, creativity, and the ability to work closely with the community engagement team to showcase the home and build community connections.

The Activities Lead will also be responsible for updating the home’s social media platforms.

ABOUT THE ROLE As an Activities Lead at a Barchester care home, you’ll help to create a stimulating environment that enables us to deliver exceptional all‑round care and support for our residents. You will be computer literate and able to work closely with our community engagement team to create community links and showcase our Home, you will also be responsible for updating the home’s social media platforms.

Any similar experience would be ideal, but it isn’t essential especially because we’ll make sure you have the training you need to develop your skills and progress your career with us.

Person Specification Qualifications
  • No specific qualifications are required, but experience in a similar role or working with the elderly would be an advantage. The successful candidate will need to be warm, empathetic, and personable, with strong organizational skills and a driven mindset. They should also possess excellent communication skills and a creative approach to engaging residents in meaningful activities.
