Overview
Lymm High School in Cheshire is seeking a Level 2-qualified swimming teacher to join our Leisure Centre team. The swimming teacher will teach people of various ages and abilities, including adults, to develop swimming skills, technique and confidence in the water in a safe environment.
Responsibilities- To be a positive role model, creating a positive and fun environment in which to motivate and encourage children and adults to participate in swimming.
- Deliver lessons ensuring adherence to the scheme of work.
- Ensure safe provision of all equipment and ensure it is used correctly.
- Identify participants abilities and encourage them to reach their full potential.
- Demonstrate swimming techniques.
- Correct faults in swimming techniques and identify ways to improve performance.
- Regularly assess each participant s ability and progress, marking off on our assessment sheets weekly.
- Teaching Swimming: SEQ Level 2 Teaching Swimming Qualification or ASA Level 2 Award in Teaching Aquatics (QCF).
- Must hold Swim England Qualifications Level 2 Teaching Swimming Qualification or STA Level 2 Certificate in Teaching Swimming.
Contract Type: casual.
Working Hours:
zero hours/casual. Hours of Duty:
Variable throughout Monday - Thursday evening, including Tuesday 4 pm - 7 pm and Thursday 4 pm - 8 pm. Additional opportunities to cover as required, including learn-to-swim lessons Monday - Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings. Further regular teaching opportunities may arise in the future.

We deliver high-quality swimming lessons following the Swim England Learn to Swim programme to over 650 swimmers each week and provide primary school swimming lessons in the local area. Our primary role is to teach people of various ages and abilities to develop swimming skills, technique and confidence in the water in a safe environment. Lessons will be assessed against KS2 National Curriculum criteria.
There may also be opportunities to teach Rookie Lifeguard lessons.
