Office Administrator/ Coordinator
The Program Support Coordinator provides administrative support forthe School of Behavioral Sciences. The Program Support Coordinator is supervised by various supervisors depending on the department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe Program Support Coordinator (PSC) assists in processing applications to the BSSW and MSW programs and facilitates the gatekeeping process to help ensure that students have a thorough understanding of the profession of social work. The PSC engages students in this self-assessment process to ensure that students are a good fit for the program and profession. Developing and maintaining the admissions, gatekeeping, and tracking systems;assisting applicants; participating in student interviews to determine readiness for a professional social work program;
and advising students to support them through the program are key aspects of the PSC’s role. The PSC also supports the program through data tracking and analysis and assists the Chair, Program Director, and Director of Field Education in other programmatic and accreditation matters. The PSC communicates with other teams withinthe department and other university departments to facilitate collaboration, as well.
The candidate is to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills andbe able to communicate clearly through oral and written correspondence to students, faculty, staff, and community members.
The candidate is to be both professional and graceful while handling multiple projects and interacting with students. The candidate must have strong organizational skills and be calm and positive in difficult situations. The candidate is expected to workwell both independently and as part of a team.
Education and Experience
Minimum:
- Bachelor’s degree, plus 2 years of administrative experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent interviewing skills
Preferred:
- Master’s degree plus 2 or more years of administrative experience
- Experience in the social work or human services profession
- Customer service experience
- Interviewing experience
Communication and Comprehension
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writingto convey clear, well articulated information.
- Ability to understand, speak, and write English in order toconvey messages and correspond in an articulate and professional manner.
- Possess public communication skills that allow professional representation of Liberty University to a variety of business and community customers and associates.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent computer skills.

- Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, andapply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature.
Physical and Sensory Abilities
- Occasionally required to travel to local and campus locations.

- Regularly required to hear and speak in order to effectively communicate orally.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to moveabout the building.

Work Environment
