Position OverviewThe Statistician works within our quality department to apply statistical methods to real-world manufacturing and quality assurance.
LocationOn-site in Lynchburg, Virginia
Your Day to Day as a Statistician:
- Use statistical methods such as EDA, regression, mixed models, and SPC
- Support compliance by performing contract‑driven analyses and documenting results for regulatory and technical acceptance
- Evaluate and qualify measurement and inspection systems (including gage R&R and process capability studies)
- Develop and maintain statistical programs using SAS and other tools to automate and simplify complex analyses
- Collaborate across departments to solve problems, drive continuous improvement, and support cost‑saving initiatives
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics with two years of experience
- Strong communication skills explaining complex data in clear and actionable terms
- Independent, detail‑oriented, and driven with the ability to prioritize in a fast‑paced environment
- A deep understanding of when and how to apply statistical techniques to produce meaningful results
- Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance
- A Master’s degree in statistics
- Proficiency in SAS using advanced data processing techniques
- Experience building mixed-effect models and working with Microsoft Office tools

Applicants selected will be subject to a federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter. The position requires U.S. citizenship (no dual citizenship) and the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance, which involves an extensive criminal and financial background investigation, drug test, and previous employment reference verifications.
