BWXT is currently seeking a Strategic Sourcing Specialist for its Lynchburg, VA location!

BWXT Advanced (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). seeking a Strategic Sourcing Specialist to support exciting first‑of‑a‑kind government and commercially funded contracts and various other innovative research and development programs. This position will be integrated within the Advanced Technologies group and will be based at our BWXT Innovation Center (BIC). The role will require occasional travel, estimated at up to 20% of the time.

On‑site in Lynchburg, Virginia

• Cradle-to-Grave Contracts Administration, including non-disclosure agreements, negotiating terms and conditions, managing contract deliverables, and ensuring compliance with U.S. government contracting flow down requirements.
• Manage the execution of subcontracts for materials, equipment, supplies and services of a highly specialized and complex nature through all phases of the program lifecycle.
• Evaluate, negotiate, and manage assigned subcontracts to perform to each project’s specifications, quality, budget, schedule and earned value requirements to include the timely delivery of all deliverables required to fulfill the subcontract.
• Author, manage and influence critical path releases of Statements of Works (SOWs) and plans to align with required schedules and subcontractor lead times.
• Provide guidance on financial and contractual matters pertaining to subcontracts.
• Review proposals, analyze results, and determine negotiation plans/strategies as well as addressing any exceptions to flow downs, specifications, or BWXT terms and conditions requirements.
• Develop comprehensive supplier contractual and strategic relationships to address cost, business risk, and supply continuity.
• Complete Purchase Order administration duties, including issuance, revision management, claim resolution, discrepancy settlement, etc.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and initiate corrective action if performance falters; execute contract modifications in response to changing requirements; and perform close‑out activities.
• Track open orders and report status as required in support of the business needs.
• Carry out in‑depth cost breakdown analysis and negotiate lowest Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) within the supply base.
• Identify, manage, escalated, and mitigate supply‑based risks throughout the procurement lifecycle in support of government contract requirements, operational goals, and business strategy.
