Overview

CASAS:
Electrical, Residential Technical Studies, Adjunct Faculty at Liberty University. Part-time adjunct instructor; teach with the NCCER curriculum in classroom and lab settings. This position requires in-person work at an off-campus instructional site in Altavista, VA. Adjuncts are expected to model Liberty University’s mission and a Christian worldview, and to engage in student-centered teaching, scholarship, and personal spiritual formation in alignment with the University’s values.

• Classroom instruction and lab instruction/management using the NCCER curriculum
• Perform and supervise trade-related work
• Maintain a safe working environment
• Work with classroom-related technology (e.g., Canvas, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Strictly adhere to Liberty University policies and represent the University in an exemplary manner
• Collaborate effectively as a team member aligned with LU’s Christian model and Mission – Training Champions for Christ

• Supervising lab assistants, where applicable

• Minimum of four years of field experience and a journeyman’s electrical license; experience in residential and commercial work preferred
• Industry-recognized licenses or certifications; college degree preferred

• Communication and comprehension: ability to convey information clearly in verbal and written English; professional representation of Liberty University
• Strong organizational skills
• Computer skills

• Ability to reason, analyze information, and apply judgment to solve routine and complex problems

• May travel
• Ability to sit for desk work or type on a keyboard
• Regularly required to hear and speak to communicate effectively
• Stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the campus
• Handle materials; reach overhead; kneel or stoop to conduct business
• Regularly lift up to 50 pounds; perform trade-related activities

This position involves a field-like work environment, which may include uncontrolled climates, loud areas, and hazardous conditions
