CASAS: HVAC, Residential Technical Studies, Adjunct Faculty at Liberty University is a part-time adjunct instructor role. The instructor will deliver classroom and lab instruction using the NCCER curriculum to prepare students for a career in the HVAC field. The position requires in-person work at an off-campus instructional site in Altavista, VA. Liberty University emphasizes Training Champions for Christ; adjuncts should model a personal commitment to the goals and values of Liberty University, and engage in spiritual formation within a biblically informed Christian worldview.

Adjuncts should view their teaching, engagement with students, and scholarship as a means to a significant educational end, employing a variety of techniques to foster good learning conditions, treating each student as a unique individual, and accommodating individual differences, abilities, and interests.

• Work with classroom-related technology i.e. Canvas, Word, Outlook, Power Point
• Strictly adhere to Liberty University policies, representing the University in an exemplary manner
• Work effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s Christian model and Mission Training Champions for Christ

Supervising lab assistants, where applicable.

Education and Experience

• The Technical Studies Instructor must have a minimum of four years of field experience and have a journeyman's HVAC license. Applicant’s resume must demonstrate this experience and should reflect both residential and commercial work. Instructors will need to provide industry-recognized licenses or certifications. It is preferred that the instructor have a college degree.

• Communication and Comprehension:
  Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well-articulated information; ability to understand, speak, and write English; possess public communication skills to professionally represent Liberty University; strong organizational and computer skills.
• Problem Solving:
  Able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment to solve problems of routine and complex nature.

Work Environment:
This position will require the employee to work in a setting similar to fieldwork, including uncontrolled climates, loud work areas, and hazardous conditions.
