The position will be in the Lynchburg, VA Advanced Technologies Office.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and execute Commercial Grade Dedication Plans.
  • Serve as the primary technical interface with suppliers for the fabrication of subcontracted parts and assemblies.
  • Collaborate with Design, Manufacturing Engineers, QA, QC, and other teams to analyze new requirements.
  • Develop procurement strategies and packages including design information, drawings, material properties, verification requirements, test and inspection requirements, quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Verify the acceptability of sublet components and work with suppliers, manufacturing, quality and design personnel to resolve issues.
  • Review and analyze design, contract, and drawing specifications; prepare technical ordering requirements for subcontract material and assemblies used in fabricating nuclear components.
  • Lead internal technical teams when preparing and evaluating work completed by suppliers.
  • Verify supplier fabrication processes, procedures, and delivered components meet ordering requirements.
  • Review and disposition supplier-generated procedures and certifications.
  • Participate in supplier audits, surveillance, and observe operations at suppliers.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing, Quality, and other Engineering Disciplines to develop and qualify new suppliers.
  • Evaluate and contribute to the disposition of discrepant material; review certifications and perform technical releases on acceptable material.
  • Assist in developing cost estimates in support of proposals.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or physics.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience.
  • Clear, concise, accurate, and timely written and verbal communication including technical reports and presentations.
  • Ability to learn and gain expertise in supplier methods and processes, including product quality processes.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills; ability to develop effective internal and external relationships.
  • Willingness to travel 10-20% (domestic and international).
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DOE or DOD security clearance as required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in commercial grade dedication, NQA-1, and ASME BPVC.

Compensation:
The base salary range for this position in Virginia (US-VA) is typically between $85,000 and $134,000 per year, with offering based on market factors and candidate qualifications. The total compensation may include an annual incentive and benefits; details provided with an offer.

As a federal government contractor, BWXT complies with applicable health and safety requirements. All new hires may be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. This position requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE or DOD security clearance where applicable.
