Job :

• Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline
• At least 7 years of directly related experience
• Advanced knowledge of related engineering standards, techniques and criteria
• Excellent communication skills to comprehend and convey detailed technical data
• Developed network and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
• Advanced problem identification and problem resolution skills
• Demonstrates leadership characteristics
• Exhibits a questioning attitude and practices self-checking
• Advanced level of specific software tools (CAD, FEA, CFD) and programming skills
• Ready to join Framatome and help deliver clean, safe energy and advance nuclear technology

You may have also acquired the following skills:

• Familiarity with light water reactors and experience with plant system thermal-hydraulic and core response during transients
• Experience using RELAP or similar code to simulate reactor system behavior during postulated accidents
• Positive and effective team interaction skills and value positive peer relationships
• Customer focus and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with a passion for problem solving

As an Experienced RELAP Safety Engineer in Lynchburg, VA, you will be part of the proven team in the Fuel Business Unit.

Your work will include:

• Performing new or revising existing postulated accident analyses using a Framatome version of RELAP5
• Evaluating and documenting the impact of plant and core design changes on existing Safety Analyses
• Contributing to methods development activities in support of new fuel products, customer requirements, or changes in the licensing regulations
• Contributing to the development of automation and software tools to improve operating efficiency or software capabilities
• Working with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure successful customer delivery

Any employment offer is contingent upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen (as applicable).

The range of base salary for the position is between $112,000 - $152,000, and may also include annual incentives, performance bonuses and benefits. Base salary is a guideline and total compensation varies by qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
