Your Day to Day as a Facilities Management & Infrastructure Planning Project Engineer:
Perform project management duties with a thorough technical understanding of the engineering requirements for highly complex projects. Utilize engineering background to accurately measure design and installation progress.
- Define and analyze technical criteria for project deliverables.
- Lead overall effort and review technical test plans for the acceptance of process equipment.
- Review and write technical specifications for facility equipment and buildings.
- Work alongside other facility engineers, contractors, and maintenance groups.
- Ensure compliance with applicable internal processes and regulations.
- Apply engineering theory and related knowledge to design and perform new installations and modifications to the facility utility and process systems as required to support machinery and production at the NOG‑L manufacturing facility.
- Ensures that all I.E. adopted Project Management methods are performed in accordance with the PMI ‘s Guide to the PMBOK.
- Duties rely heavily on advanced accounting skills, advanced word processing, and advanced spreadsheet development.
- Develops Project Charters.
- Develops Risk Registers.
- Performs Top-Down and Bottom-Up Estimates on a regular basis.
- Leads each project team with developing WBS structure for projects.
- Leads project team with developing project schedules (Using expertise to help plan optimal project workflow, and in turn identifying predecessor/successor relationship between tasks, etc.)
- Leads each project team with estimating each task in the WBS (Negotiated estimating process).
- Establishes schedule and cost baselines for each project.
- Assists with task planning, communicating closely with the trade supervision and foremen for each trade to develop the most efficient approach for the overall project.
- Communicates with in‑plant personnel to schedule project work.
- Ensures that project milestones and expectations are communicated to the entire project team, including field resources.
- Ensures tasks are being worked in the field align with weekly work plan.
- Provides regular schedules and cost updates to the entire project team and stakeholders.
- Evaluates and analyzes earned value management metrics and reports findings to the project team.
- Communicates and submits change requests to in‑plant customers.
- Produces issue logs for each project.
- Works closely with the IE project Master Planner & Scheduler on a regular basis to accurately update the percent complete status and actual costs for all WBS tasks within each project.
