Engineering Technician

Elliot is a full-service electrical contractor specializing in overhead and underground distribution, transmission, substations, lighting, traffic signaling, utility locating and industrial/commercial services.

• Walk right of ways various terrain in potentially adverse conditions to patrol distribution line damage.
• Carry and handle telescopic measuring stick and switching stick that weigh approximately 11 lbs.
• May be required to use a brush axe or machete to clear brush for walking and staking during survey work.
• Demonstrate ability to work with others in supplying information and seeking assistance as necessary.
• Applies technical knowledge and experience in resolving problems encountered in assigned work.
• Uses initiative in looking for opportunities to improve the process and increase job knowledge/technical skills.
• Communicates effectively both orally and in writing with other employees and customers.
• Assists in the preparation of technical reports and papers.
• Develops decision-making skills based on job knowledge.

• Associate Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical Engineering Technology plus 10+ years of related utility industry work experience.
• Possess extensive knowledge of equipment, materials, systems, and business processes.
• Possess moderate computer literacy skills.
• Perform work activities while offering coaching to lesser experienced employees.
• Valid Driver's License and Safe Driving Record required.
