General Function The Senior Financial Analyst is a critical role in the monthly/quarterly accounting close process, leading/organizing the percentage of completion revenue recognition process and ensuring adequate controls and compliance throughout Belvac worldwide. The role will assist in implementing efficient and diligent financial practices, participate in standard accounting procedures and business decision support, and drive process improvements across the business. The role is heavily involved in the day-to-day running of the accounting function and participates in monthly financial close and other financial requirements at divisional and corporate levels.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation, processing, consolidation, and analysis of Belvac’s monthly financial results; work with personnel to review results and define reporting/analytical requirements.
  • Organize/lead all aspects of percentage of completion accounting, revenue recognition, and project reporting.
  • Assist in preparing reports required by the business, including capital projects, cost savings, financial metrics, and monthly presentations.
  • Lead and participate in user enhancements and process optimization of the IFS software company-wide.
  • Support functional areas and corporate personnel regarding operational issues, inventory management, asset management, and profitability.
  • Participate in developing the annual budget and strategic plan.
  • Participate in the preparation, coordination and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial projections.
  • Act as an all-round finance resource to support controllership and FP&A.
  • Maintain Dover’s DRS financial reporting system interface and ensure local ERP results are reported to corporate.
  • Assist in reporting monthly and quarterly financial information in DRS and DPLAN, including financial bridge construction.
  • Conduct cost and inventory analysis as required; cross-train as back-up for tax reporting and core cost accounting functions with focus on improving cost structure for value-added support.
  • Define and optimize Belvac’s business processes through standardization and best practices; implement reporting changes to monitor financial and non-financial indicators.
  • Assist with projects and other reports as needed; maintain SOX procedures and support SOX and internal audits.
  • Prepare reconciliations of various general ledger accounts; other duties as assigned.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a minimum of 4+ years’ experience in an industrial manufacturing environment is required.
  • In lieu of 4 years in Industrial Manufacturing, 6 years of general finance & audit background in related industries may be considered.
  • A CPA, CMA, or MBA is preferred.
Experience
  • Experience with Percentage of Completion accounting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently; creative with a can-do attitude.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines with changing priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong technical skills with a solid understanding of general business; ability to interpret instructions and solve practical problems.
  • Experience with fully integrated ERP software (e.g., Oracle, IFS); ability to enhance end-user processes.
  • Ability to interact across functional boundaries, work in a team, and communicate at all levels of the organization.
