Paramedic - Cardiac Cath Lab

Overview

Paramedic - Cardiac Cath Lab/Full Time Days 7a-7p at Centra Health. The Paramedic provides care appropriate to the patient population served and responds to routine and life-threatening conditions under the direction of the Operational Medical Director.

• Assesses nature and extent of illness / injury to establish and prioritize medical care.
• Provides appropriate patient care interventions including but not limited to basic life support needs, IV insertion, fluid and medication administration, advanced airway techniques, cardiac rhythm interpretations and monitoring, pacing and defibrillation.
• Provides emergent, routine, and non-emergent care, and transportation to patients as needed by ambulance.
• Gathers and submits appropriate patient data necessary for continued treatment.
• Demonstrates ability to prioritize multiple tasks to accomplish work assignments in a timely manner.
• Completes documentation and submits in a timely manner.
• Interacts and communicates information and ideas to all levels of personnel within the organization.
• Ability to recognize conflicts with personnel, patients, and other customers and to appropriately intervene.
• Other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or GED
• Virginia Paramedic or EMT-Intermediate certification required.
• American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support
• American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support
• American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR required.
• Virginia Association of Volunteer Rescue Squads or Virginia Department of Fire Programs Emergency Vehicle Operations Certificate required.
• Hazardous Materials Awareness required within the first year of employment.
• Federal Emergency Management Agency Incident Command System 100, 200, and 700

• Associate degree in healthcare or related field
• Previous pre-hospital EMS or transport experience
• National registry paramedic
