This position is responsible for providing safe and reliable transportation services for Centra PACE and ground transport participants under the direction of the Transport Supervisor. The Driver will escort PACE participants and patients to and from Centra facilities, ensuring a dignified door‑to‑door experience. The role requires clear communication, pre‑ and post‑vehicle safety inspections, vehicle maintenance reporting, and coordination of participant needs with the supervising team.

• Provide exceptional door‑to‑door care to all PACE participants and Centra patients.
• Enter participants’ homes safely on a routine basis (PACE).
• Communicate all participant and patient changes and needs to the direct supervisor.
• Perform pre‑ and post‑vehicle safety inspections, ensuring the vehicle is in proper operational condition and reporting any maintenance issues.
• Maintain cleanliness of the interior and exterior of the Centra vehicle.
• Follow scheduled transports for PACE participants or patients and other potential trips as communicated by the supervisor.
• Deliver participant medications, medical supplies, and other medical necessities (PACE).
• Maintain all necessary records and documentation regarding participants, patients, and vehicles.
• Communicate frequent changes to the direct supervisor.

• Valid Virginia driver’s license.
• Virginia Emergency Medical Technician or higher.
• One year’s experience working with a frail and elderly population exhibiting the skills needed to assist geriatric patients with transportation needs (Bedford PACE only).
• CPR First Aid, Stair and Gait training, Wheelchair training, and fall prevention training before being released solo.
• Emergency Vehicle Operators Course within 6 months of hire.
• PASS training within 6 months of hire.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Previous pre‑hospital EMS or transport experience.
