The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) provides patient support services and office clerical duties under the direction and supervision of a licensed medical practitioner. Medical Assistants coordinate patient care within Centra’s Professional Practice model and collaborate with providers and members of the interdisciplinary team to deliver high‑quality patient care focused on achieving desired outcomes.

• Assist in the examination and treatment of patients under provider direction; measure vital signs and obtain health histories.
• Provide health promotion and counseling to patients and caregivers; establish personal rapport to identify patient care requirements.
• Administer medications and immunizations (injectable, oral, topical, aerosol); perform wound care and personal health interventions as directed by a provider.
• Perform specimen collection, CLIA‑waved testing, blood collection, and electrocardiogram.
• Serve as a communication liaison for the healthcare team.
• Assist with patient scheduling and follow‑up care.
• Maintain accurate, detailed patient records and charts using an electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with policies and procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned; job specifications may be modified or updated at any time.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program.
• Current certification or registration through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or an equivalent organization.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Preferred: 2 years’ experience as a medical assistant.
