Desktop Support Technician – Lynchburg Doctor of Medical Science Program (DMSc)

Full Time (Benefits Eligible).
Location:
University of Lynchburg, Lynchburg, VA. This position reports to and is supervised by the Manager of User Support, with ongoing performance evaluations.
The IT User Support Technician provides in‑house technical hardware and software support for the campus, troubleshooting and diagnosing computer, printer, software, and other technology related issues for students, faculty, and staff.
Responsibilities- Provide technical support via helpdesk calls, emails, and tickets.
- Install, troubleshoot and repair campus Windows and Mac computers.
- Configure, maintain and troubleshoot peripheral devices.
- Troubleshoot software‑related issues.
- Perform basic network troubleshooting.
- Assist in other duties as assigned.
Starting Salary: $42,000 per year.

Schedule- 8:30 am – 5:00 pm (7.5 hrs/day with occasional evenings and weekends as needed).
- Good teamwork skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication with users ranging from novice to experienced.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience with SCCM and JAMF.
Sitting with occasional walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, bending, climbing ladders, lifting, and carrying required.
Required Qualifications- Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Windows and macOS.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair computer software, hardware, and associated peripherals.
- Background check clearance.
- Two years of relevant experience.
- Two years of college or technical coursework, or equivalent work experience.
