Job Title: Senior Database Administrator
Location: Remote
Summary: Red Cedar Consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior Database Administrator (Microsoft SQL Server) to support our federal clients. The role involves designing, implementing, administering, and maintaining complex databases in client/server environments. The candidate will be responsible for database performance optimization, security, auditing, quality control, and documentation while supporting database programming, storage management, and systems integration activities.
Responsibilities:- Perform all activities related to the administration of computerized databases.
- Project long-range database design requirements in coordination with information systems managers.
- Design databases in a client/server environment.
- Create databases in a client/server environment.
- Maintain databases in a client/server environment.
- Perform database auditing to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data.
- Advise users on access to client/server databases.
- Design, implement, and maintain complex databases.
- Address Job Control Language (JCL) considerations in database design and maintenance.
- Manage database access methods.
- Evaluate and optimize database access times.
- Maintain database organization and structure.
- Implement database protection measures.
- Prepare and maintain database documentation.
- Apply statistical methods relevant to database administration.
- Apply knowledge of database technologies and development methodologies.
- Utilize front-end and back-end programming languages, including SQL.
- Perform database programming.
- Monitor and enforce database standards and procedures.
- Support the integration of systems through database design.
- Must have 5 years of progressive experience with database query languages and technologies such as Oracle, PL/SQL, SQL Server, and MS Access.
- Must have 3 years of hands-on experience and expertise in Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS).
- Must demonstrate the capability to work with various operating systems.
- Must demonstrate the capability to work with additional programming languages.
- Must possess a DoD-approved 8570 Baseline Certification at Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II.
- Must possess the applicable Computing Environment Certification identified in the solicitation: MC:
Azure DBAA, MCSA: SQL 2012 DBA, MCSA: SQL 2016 DBA, or MC:
Azure SEA. - Must meet the DLA Computing Environment Certification Information Assurance Role/Function requirement for DBA Admin.
- Must possess IT-I Critical Sensitive security clearance or Tier 5 (T5) at the time of proposal submission, as stated in the solicitation.
