AboutThe Role
As an Attorney with this firm, you will assist clients with a variety of legal needs, with a focus on bankruptcy filings, debt restructuring, and creditor negotiations, while also providing general legal counsel. You will play a critical role in developing strategic legal solutions, building lasting client relationships, and offering guidance during financially complex situations.
Responsibilities- Preparing and filing Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy petitions and related documents.
- Counseling clients on bankruptcy options, alternatives, and post-filing expectations.
- Representing clients in bankruptcy court and in meetings with creditors.
- Developing comprehensive legal strategies to resolve debt-related issues.
- Active Virginia State Bar license (required).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in bankruptcy law or general legal practice.
- Proven ability to draft complex legal documents with precision and clarity.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to build trust-based relationships with clients.
- Excellent research and writing skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- A commitment to ethical standards, professionalism, and collaboration.
- Experience working with small businesses or individuals in financial distress.
- Familiarity with debt negotiation, restructuring, and consumer protection laws.
- A solutions-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to client challenges.
