About Osterbind Law

At Osterbind Law, PLLC, we help people who’ve been hurt or disabled rebuild their lives and move forward. We’re a growing, family‑run law firm in Lynchburg, Virginia that does one thing really well: injury and disability law.

Our team is driven, invested, and genuinely cares about doing the right thing for every client — and for each other. We’re not for everyone, but if you want meaningful work, a supportive team, and a place where your effort actually makes a difference, you might feel right at home here.

About the Role

The Case Manager Paralegal is the steady hand that keeps our personal injury cases on track from start to finish. You’ll be the main point of contact for clients, making sure they feel heard, informed, and cared for — while you juggle treatment updates, medical records, insurance company communications, demand letters, and final disbursements.

It’s fast‑paced and deadline‑driven. Some days will stretch you — but if you love solving problems, organizing details, and helping people through some of the hardest moments in their lives, you’ll thrive.

What Makes You a Fit
  • You thrive under pressure and keep your cool when juggling deadlines.
  • You’re naturally organized and detail‑obsessed.
  • You enjoy connecting with people and communicating clearly — with empathy.
  • You’re proactive, not passive — you see what needs to be done and do it.
  • You bring positivity to the team and contribute to our culture of accountability.
What You’ll Do

Client Communication

  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients — calls, texts, emails.
  • Keep clients updated on treatment progress and case status.
  • Schedule meetings and in‑home visits with attorneys as needed.
  • Conduct recorded calls with insurance companies and coordinate with doctors.

Treatment Process Coordination

  • Track and document treatment updates.
  • Maintain accurate treatment records for each client.

Insurance Communication

  • Draft and submit Letters of Representation and letters of preservation.
  • Handle inquiries from insurance adjusters and communicate policy limits.
  • Manage property damage and medical payment claims with attorney approval.

Demand Preparation & Follow‑Up

  • Organize and review medical records daily.
  • Coordinate with Even Up for final demand letters.
  • Confirm insurer submission preferences and follow up when needed.

Liability Investigation & Admin

  • Identify and interview witnesses.
  • Request and review police reports, DMAS letters, and other documents.
  • Coordinate with our Records Specialist and Archtrieval.
  • Handle scanning, file management, and scheduling.
Benefits That Actually Support You

We believe you shouldn’t have to choose between doing meaningful work and having a life. Here’s what we offer:

  • Competitive Salary: $40,000–$60,000, depending on experience

  • Performance Bonus: Based on hitting goals — you help us grow, you grow too

  • Paid Holidays + Flexible PTO: Work hard, rest well

  • Simple IRA with Employer Contribution: 2% of your salary, even if you don’t contribute

  • Long‑Term Disability & Life Insurance: We’ve got your back

  • Professional Development: We’ll invest in your learning and growth

  • Modern Tech: Apple laptop and cloud‑based platforms like Google Workspace, MyCase, and more!

  • Supportive Team Culture: Work with people who want you to succeed — and will cheer you on every step of the way
How to Apply

If you’re ready to grow with a team that cares, we’d love to hear from you. Please follow these directions — attention to detail matters!

  • Email with the subject line: “I’D LOVE TO WORK FOR YOU.”
  • Attach:
    • A detailed cover letter explaining why YOU are the perfect fit
    • Your resume
    • Optional but encouraged: writing sample, references, and an unofficial transcript
  • If you’d like your application kept confidential from your current employer, please mention that in your cover letter.
  • We’ll be flexible on your start date for the right person — but remember: if you can’t follow the application instructions, we probably won’t call you for an interview.

If you’re ready to do meaningful work, build real skills, and join a team that truly has your back — let’s talk.
