The House and Promotion Manager reports to the Director of Operations and is responsible for ensuring a positive and seamlessaudience experience for all School of Music events. This roleencompasses comprehensive ticketing management, venue preparation,staff supervision, and the development of promotional strategies to maximize event attendance. The Manager will provide exceptional customer service, maintain accurate records, and collaborate with technical staff to create a welcoming and organized environment forpatrons.
ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage event ticketing, including online sales, box office operations, inventory, and customer service related toticketing.
- Ensure optimal audience experience by managing crowd flow,addressing inquiries, and providing exceptional customer service,including accessibility for patrons with disabilities.
- Coordinate the setup and maintenance of the performance venue,ensuring cleanliness, organization, and adherence to technical requirements.
- Oversee the creation, distribution, and management of event programs, signage, and informational materials.
- Supervise, train, and schedule Front of House staff and volunteers, ensuring adherence to protocols and delivering clear instructions.
- Develop and implement promotional strategies to maximize eventattendance and ticket sales, including the creation of discountcodes and promotions.
- Generate and analyze ticket sales reports to inform event planning and promotional efforts.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, ticketing transactions, and venue operations.
- Strictly adheres to Liberty University policies, representing the University in an exemplary manner.
- Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s Christian model and Mission – Training Champions for Christ.
Supervises 10-15 student worker and volunteers.
QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Music, Hospitality Management, Arts Administration, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field, and two (2) years of experience in customer service, event management, and staff supervision, demonstrating strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Or, six (6) years of equivalent relevant work experience in customer service, event management, and staff supervision.
ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES ESSENTIAL TO THE FUNCTION OF THEJOBCommunication and Comprehension- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writingto convey clear, well articulated information.
- Ability to understand, speak, and write English in order toconvey messages and correspond in an articulate and professional manner.
- Possess public communication skills that allow professional representation of Liberty University.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong computer skills.
- Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, andapply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature.
- May be required to travel to events and venue on campus or thelocal area.
- May be required to sit to perform deskwork or type on akeyboard.
- Regularly required to hear and speak in order to effectively communicate orally.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to moveabout the campus.
- Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel or stoop in order toconduct business.
- Regularly lift 15 or fewer pounds.
The working environment for this position is primarily aclimate-controlled setting with moderate noise levels, typical ofan event venue or office.
