American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of Med/Surg experience and a compact or VA RN license.

• Medical Surgical unit in a hospital setting
• Patient population includes medical patients, including renal and diabetic cases
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 or 4x12 hours (6:45p-7:15a)
• Floating may be required in rotation with staff, in accordance with clinical experience and facility floating policies
• Cerner/Oracle Health charting system preferred but not required

• Active RN license (Compact or VA) required in hand
• BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience required
• Minimum 1 year of experience with medical patients, including renal and diabetic populations
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Experience with chest tubes (Emerson/Pleur Evac), nasal cannula, and non-invasive airway management
• Experience with feeding tube care and management
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
• Experience with pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure care
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and telemetry remote monitoring
• Wound care/wound vac experience preferred
• Candidates with pending certifications will be considered
• BSN not required

• Biweekly orientation held on Mondays
• Expect to work some holidays and weekends in rotation with staff
• Scrub policy allows any color, professional appearance, child-friendly print tops, and scrub/lab coats
• Nicotine-free campus
• Must reside within 60-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Former permanent employees must be separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• First-time travelers welcome to apply
• RTO must be approved prior to assignment start, with a preference for no RTO in the first weeks of the assignment
