American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a day shift role requiring 2+ years of recent Medical Surgical experience and prior travel assignment history.

• Medical Surgical unit within a teaching hospital setting
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 or 4x12 hours (6:45am-7:15pm)
• Cares for patients requiring respiratory, gastrointestinal, genitourinary/renal, and cardiac monitoring needs
• Performs chest tube management (Emerson/Pleur Evac), nasal cannula, and non-invasive airway management
• Manages feeding tubes, peripheral IV lines, and wound care including wound vac therapy
• Provides care for renal failure patients and telemetry remote monitoring
• Cerner/Oracle Health charting experience preferred
• Floating required in rotation with staff based on clinical experience and in accordance with Joint Commission standards

• Active compact or VA RN license required in hand
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical RN experience required
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Prior travel assignment experience required
• BSN not required

• Biweekly orientation held on Mondays
• 8-10 hours of training modules required during orientation and annually
• Nicotine-free campus
• Scrubs may be any color with a professional appearance; child-friendly print tops and scrub/lab coats are allowed
• Expect to work some holidays in rotation with staff
• RTO must be approved prior to assignment start, with a preference for no time off during the first few weeks
• Candidates must live within a 60-mile radius of the facility
• Former Centra employees must have been separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• First-time travelers will not be accepted for this role
