American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a Level II Trauma Center position requiring a compact or VA RN license and a minimum of 2 years of ER experience.
Details- Work in a combined adult/pediatric Emergency Department within a Level II Trauma Center
- STEMI and Stroke Certified facility
- Night shift schedule (4x12 hours, 18:45-7:15) with every other weekend required
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Cerner/Oracle Health charting experience preferred but not required
- Staff may float in rotation per unit policy, though floating is uncommon
- Active compact or VA RN license required in hand
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI, PALS
- TNCC certification preferred
- Prior charge nurse experience preferred
- Experience in teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II settings preferred
- BSN not required
- Skills in trauma care including gunshot wounds, traumatic amputations, and shock/trauma management required
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG interpretation required
- Experience managing psychiatric emergencies, IV therapy, respiratory interventions, and neurological trauma care required
- Provide emergency care across a wide range of conditions including trauma, pediatrics, psychiatric emergencies, and critical care interventions
- Responsibilities include triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and orthopedic splinting
- Biweekly orientation sessions held on Mondays
- 8-10 hours of mandatory orientation and annual training modules required
- Nicotine-free campus
- Scrubs not provided
- Must work some holidays in rotation with staff
- RTO must be approved prior to assignment start, with none preferred during the first few weeks
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Former permanent employees must be separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler
- Must reside within a 60-mile radius of the facility
